An amazing story of a human's ability to survive in the face of the German takeover of Norway. It is the story of Sven Sømme's escape from German capture and his trek across the whole of Norway via incredible mountains, swamps, bogs, rivers, and swinging from tree to tree to reach Sweden. It is amazing that he could remember his trek in such detail. His descriptions of Norway are as breathtaking as Norway is in real life. Fortunately he had the help of many a brave friend and stranger. The fortitude of Sven is just incredible to read and imagine. I could not put the book down from beginning to end and stayed up late into the night to read it.
