This is a fascinating book not just on the practice of fasting but also on the different metabolic states a body can switch between and how our body uses different energy sources to keep us alive. The is one of the few books I’ve read that gives an intuitive and plausible reason on why we develop insulin resistance. It treats the body as a dynamic system, which it is, instead of a static machinery. The way the body breaks down existing structures through autophagy and reuse it for energy is amazing to read. Really enjoyed it!
